


The Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) held a coordination meeting on Tuesday to ensure law and order during the upcoming Pahela Boishakh celebrations.
The meeting took place at 11:00 am on April 7 at the CMP Headquarters conference room, chaired by CMP Commissioner Hasan Md. Shawkat Ali.
In his address, the commissioner said Pahela Boishakh is a universal festival for Bengalis. He added that CMP has taken extensive measures so residents can celebrate safely and without disruption. He also urged citizens to remain alert and cooperate with law enforcement.
Key issues discussed included strengthening security, managing traffic, ensuring emergency services, increasing coordinated patrols, controlling crowds, and enhancing surveillance at key locations.
Officials also issued guidelines to ensure a safe and orderly celebration through coordination among all relevant agencies.
Senior CMP officials, including Additional Police Commissioner (Traffic) Wahidul Haque Chowdhury, Additional Police Commissioner (Crime and Operations) Muhammad Faisal Ahmed, and Deputy Police Commissioner (Sadar) Md. Ferdous Ali Chowdhury, attended the meeting along with other officers and stakeholders.
