Two ships carrying 51,000 tonnes of fuel from Malaysia are expected to enter Bangladeshi waters this Wednesday. Under the supervision of the Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC), the vessels are transporting 26,000 tonnes of refined octane and 25,000 tonnes of furnace oil.
BPC Public Relations Officer, Farzin Hasan Moumita, confirmed that both ships are scheduled to reach the outer anchorage of Chittagong Port within one to two days of entering national waters.
According to BPC sources, the Marshall Islands-flagged MT Central Star is carrying the octane shipment, while the MT Eastern Queens is transporting the furnace oil. Both vessels are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage simultaneously.
BPC officials stated that unloading will begin immediately once the ships dock at the jetty. The corporation remains committed to ensuring a stable fuel supply despite challenges posed by the global geopolitical situation.
