The Ministry of Education has finalized the schedule for the 2027 Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations with setting on March 14 as the start date for theoretical tests.
The examinations will conclude on April 15, 2027. The decision was confirmed following a high-level meeting at the ministry on Monday afternoon.
Syed Akhtaruzzaman the Chairman of the Dhaka Education Board and President of the Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee, verified the updated schedule to reporters.
Under the ministry's earlier plan SSC exams were slated to begin on January 7, 2027. The newly finalized routine pushes the timeline back by over two months.
Traditionally the SSC exams took place in February and Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) exams in April. However COVID-19 pandemic severely disrupted the academic calendar in recent years.
Education officials are currently reviewing academic timelines to prevent lost study time for students. As part of broader reform initiatives announced in March ministry is studying the feasibility of conducting both SSC and HSC examinations by December 31 each year to restore structure to the national academic calendar.
