National Revolution and Solidarity Day 2026 was observed with due solemnity across Morelganj Upazila in Bagerhat on Saturday through a series of programs organized by the upazila administration.
The day began with the hoisting of the national flag atop government, semi-government and private buildings. A discussion meeting was later held at the Upazila Parishad conference room, followed by a cultural performance.
Presided over by Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Habibullah, the meeting featured speeches by Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Aktaruzzaman, Primary Education Officer Khandaker Sefainur Arefin, Freedom Fighter Acting Commander Shah-Alam Babul, Freedom Fighter Alhaj Abdul Bari, Upazila BNP Vice-President Giasuddin Talukdar, former Jamaat-e-Islami Municipal Amir Rafiqul Islam, Upazila BNP Organising Secretary Sabina Yasmin and journalist Md. Shahidul Islam.
In his speech, UNO Habibullah highlighted the historical importance of November 7 in safeguarding national sovereignty and democracy. He called on the youth to learn the nation's true history and contribute to nation-building with a patriotic spirit.
Government officials, political leaders, teachers, students, and journalists attended the event. The program concluded with an award ceremony for students who won art and other competitions organized for the occasion.
