Shantiganj Upazila administration in Sunamganj observed National Revolution and Solidarity Day 2026 with due solemnity on Saturday through flag hoisting and a discussion meeting.
The day's events began at sunrise with the hoisting of the national flag across all government, semi-government and autonomous institutions in the upazila.
Later at 10:30 AM, a discussion meeting was held at the Shantiganj Upazila Parishad conference room with chaired by Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Hillol Chakma and moderated by Public Health Engineer Atiur Rahman.
Key speakers included Upazila BNP Joint Convener Raoshan Khan Sagar, Shantiganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Oli Ullah, Upazila Agriculture Officer Mohammad Ahsan Habib, District BNP Convener Committee Member Nur Ali, former Freedom Fighter Commander Ataur Rahman, Shantiganj Press Club President Sohel Talukdar and 'Haor Bachao Andolon' General Secretary Md. Nazrul Islam.
Speakers emphasized the historical significance of November 7 with highlighting the vital need for national unity, democratic values and safeguarding the nation's independence and sovereignty.
The program was attended by Upazila Engineer Sajedul Alam, Cooperative Officer Mohammad Ruhul Hasan, Medical Officer Dr. Hasibul Nasim Sohan, alongside local political figures, journalists and government officials.
