Army Chief General Waker-uz-Zaman expressed his hope and confidence that army engineers will maintain their crucial role in national development through honesty, integrity, and dedication.

His remarks came during the "Annual Commanders' Conference 2025 of the Corps of Engineers" held at the Engineer Centre and School of Military Engineering (ECSME) in Qadirabad Cantonment, Natore.

Earlier in the day, General Waker-uz-Zaman was formally inducted as the 9th Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Engineers. During the conference, he exchanged views with commanders and officers on topics like technological advancement, research, professional skill development, and future planning.

The Army Chief paid tribute to the Liberation War martyrs and all freedom fighters, highlighting the glorious legacy and significant contributions of the Corps of Engineers to the nation's progress and lauding their commitment to integrity and professionalism.

The event was attended by senior military officials, including the GOC of Army Training and Doctrine Command, the Engineer-in-Chief, and commanders of various engineer units.
