


A 60-year-old man from Lohagara upazila in Narail was killed by a train while returning home after taking his grandson to school.
The accident occurred on Tuesday (April 7) morning in the Purba Char-Kalna area. The deceased, Akram Molya, son of the late Khalek Molya of Charbakjuri village, was walking home with his grandson, Mahim Molya, after dropping him at school.
According to police and local sources, Akram was crossing the railway line in Char-Kalna when the Dhaka-bound Jehanabad Express, leaving from Khulna, struck him. He died on the spot.
Lohagara police visited the scene, recovered the body, and kept it near the railway line. SI Azizul Islam of Lohagara police station said the incident has been reported to the railway police, who will take legal action.
