


A man was killed after being run over by a train in Lohagara upazila of Narail on Friday morning. The deceased was identified as Aminur Rahman alias Chan Mia (55), son of Tamzel Hossain of Sarulia village in the upazila.
The accident occurred on the railway line in the Sarulia area around 7:30 am on Friday (March 13).
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Lohagara Police Station, Abdur Rahman, confirmed the incident.
According to local sources, Aminur Rahman had gone near the railway line beside his house to tie a goat. After tying it, the goat suddenly ran onto the railway track. When he tried to pull it back using the rope, he was run over by the Dhaka-bound Jehanabad Express train that had departed from Khulna. He died on the spot.
Local residents later recovered the body and took it to his house. On receiving the information, a team from Lohagara Police Station visited the deceased’s home.
OC Abdur Rahman said the police were informed and visited the location. Since the incident occurred on a railway track, the Railway Police have been notified and will take further legal action.
