A father and child narrowly escaped injury on Tuesday morning when a large section of plaster collapsed from the ceiling of the Ulipur Upazila Health Complex.

The incident occurred on the second floor of the facility. Witnesses report that Airin Begum, a resident of Bamaner Hat, was visiting the hospital with her family when the debris fell unexpectedly. While no injuries were reported, the collapse triggered widespread panic among patients and staff.

Hospital officials have raised urgent concerns regarding the infrastructure. "Most rooms in this complex are dilapidated, with visible cracks throughout the structure," stated Dr. Md. Tanjirul Islam, the Resident Medical Officer (RMO). He warned that unless the building is declared abandoned and a new facility is constructed, a fatal accident is inevitable.
