Three people were killed including two school students in Pabna truck accident

The truck driver braked suddenly to avoid colliding with another vehicle, causing the truck to tip over onto the van.

Three school students were killed and two others were seriously injured in the incident. ‎ ‎The incident took place on the Dhaka-Pabna highway in Bangabaria area of Gayeshpur union of Sadar at around 7:30 am on Sunday (October 26). ‎ ‎The deceased are Tasmia Akhter, a fourth-grade student of Pabna Collegiate School and College, Abu Toha, a fifth-grade student, and Akram Hossain, the van driver. ‎ ‎It is learned that around 7:30 am, 8/10 students were on their way to Cadet Collegiate School and College in Jalalpur area of Pabna when a freight truck from Dhaka to Pabna hit them. Three students, including the van driver, were killed on the spot. Two other pedestrians were seriously injured at the time. Locals informed the Madhpur Highway Police Station, and the police reached the spot and recovered the body. The truck has been seized. Traffic on the highway has been closed. ‎ ‎Madhpur Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mostafizur Rahman confirmed the incident. He said that three people, including the van driver, were killed and two people in the tea shop were injured. The bodies of the deceased have been recovered. The truck has been seized. Legal action is underway.
