Juventus and AC Milan secured commanding home victories in Serie A on Sunday while newly promoted Frosinone continued their impressive start to the season.
Juventus defeated Atalanta 2-0 to climb to seventh place with 10 points. Francisco Conceicao opened the scoring in the 28th minute with a sharp strike and Bremer doubled the advantage with a second-half header. The loss leaves Atalanta languishing in 11th place after suffering their third defeat of the campaign.
Meanwhile the AC Milan delivered a comprehensive 3-0 thrashing to Lecce. Christian Pulisic broke the deadlock with a brilliant individual finish. Adrien Rabiot doubled the lead past the hour mark, and substitute Diego Moreira sealed the win. The victory moves Milan to fifth place with 11 points also keeping them closely behind league leaders Roma.
In Florence, Napoli was held to a 1-1 draw by Fiorentina. Billy Gilmour gave Napoli an early advantage with a volleyed goal but a deflected long-range strike from Alex Jimenez shortly after halftime leveled the score. Napoli currently sits ninth in the table.
Frosinone’s fairytale run remains alive after a 2-0 victory over Como. Goals from Giacomo Calo and Giorgi Kvernadze pushed the team up to sixth place, matching Juventus with 10 points. Coach Massimiliano Alvini praised his team's strong performance in what he called a "beautiful" and high-level match.
In other weekend action the Parma earned their first win of the season with edging past struggling Genoa 2-1 thanks to a late winner from Pontus Almqvist.
