Freedom fighters in Pabna held a human chain protest on Thursday to condemn the recent obstruction of the funeral prayer (janaza) and burial of valiant freedom fighter Manik Pashari in Chitlia village of Pirojpur.

The demonstration took place at 11:00 AM in front of the Pabna District Muktijoddha Sangsad building, organized by the Pabna Sadar Upazila unit of the Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad. Freedom fighters, their family members, and local citizens gathered to express outrage over the disrespect shown to a veteran who fought for the nation’s independence.

Addressing the gathering, Muktijoddha Sangsad member Mezbahur Rahman Roj described the incident surrounding Pashari's final rites as deeply disgraceful. Other key speakers including freedom fighters Hatiyar Rahman Sacchu, Moharram Ali and Ahmad Hossain, urged the administration to launch an immediate investigation and bring the perpetrators to justice.

"Obstructing the burial of a valiant freedom fighter is a despicable act," said Ahmad Hossain. "We demand a thorough probe into this incident and strict legal measures against those responsible to ensure such dishonor never recurs."

The participants submitted their demands to local authorities, calling for administrative accountability and police intervention against those involved in disrupting the funeral.
