


Two local traders, Biplab Kumar Saha (55) and Narayan Chandra Saha (50), died instantly after a truck collided with their battery-powered van late Friday night. The accident occurred around 11:45 pm in the Mujurdia area of Satair Union as the victims were returning home from a traditional religious ceremony in Kadir village of Boalmari, Faridpur.
Both deceased were traders in Satair Bazaar. The local sources report that as the van reached Mujurdia Kankhardi Madrasa, a truck traveling in the opposite direction struck it, running over the two victims who fell under the wheels.
Five other individuals Sanjay Banik, Nepal Saha, Sujit Saha, the tuk-tuk driver, and the van driver Suman were seriously injured and rushed to Boalmari Upazila Health Complex. The truck's driver and assistant immediately fled the scene, abandoning the vehicle.
Boalmari Fire Service recovered the bodies and the injured, handing the truck over to the police. Police confirmed that since the families of the deceased filed no complaints, the bodies were released to them the same night.
