The Daganbhuiyan Expatriate Forum has distributed more than Tk 2 crore in financial assistance as part of its 125th donation programme.

The aid was provided ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr to support poor and vulnerable families in the area. The forum, formed in 2020 by expatriates from Daganbhuiyan Upazila, has been carrying out humanitarian work since its inception.

Upazila Executive Officer Md. Shahidul Islam attended the event as the chief guest. Senior journalist Azad Maldar, an adviser to the local committee, was present as a special guest.

The programme was conducted by General Secretary Md. Yusuf Mia, while Vice President Abdur Rashid presided over the event. Organising Secretary Shimul Patwary and other members were also present.

According to the organisers, the funds have been used to support medical treatment for poor and critically ill patients, including cancer patients, as well as to build houses for the needy.

Md. Yusuf Mia said the organisation would continue its humanitarian efforts in the future.
