


To ensure a smoother journey for homebound passengers during Eid-ul-Fitr, the movement of trucks, covered vans, and lorries on national highways will be suspended for seven days starting Tuesday (March 17).
According to an emergency notification from the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA), the ban will remain in effect from March 17 to March 23.
The directive excludes vehicles transporting essential supplies, including, Perishable goods and food items Ready-made garments (RMG), Medicines, fertilizers, and fuel
To prevent congestion, the BRTA has also strictly prohibited parking on either side of major highways.

This measure follows a public notice issued on March 12 by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) to facilitate safer travel for millions of citizens heading home for the holidays.
