NCP Convener Nahid Islam announced today that the National Citizen Party (NCP) plans to field candidates in all 300 constituencies in the upcoming national elections, using the 'shapla koli' (Water Lily Bud) symbol.
Convener Nahid Islam stated the party's firm intention to contest every seat, emphasizing that the NCP is "a party for everyone." He extended an invitation for new political activists to join their goal of "building a new Bangladesh."
Nahid Islam affirmed the party will nominate "honest and patriotic candidates" and is finalizing the candidate list this month after working nationwide to provide "capable and patriotic leadership in every district and constituency."
The announcement follows the formal registration of the NCP as a political party. Nahid Islam expressed gratitude for this achievement, noting the lengthy process—the party was founded in February, began registration in March, submitted documents in June, and finally received official registration and its symbol after delays and a "lengthy review."
He recalled the party's founding after the "popular uprising" with the aim of building a new Bangladesh. Islam referenced the "July movement," where the party "visited homes across the country and received unprecedented public support." He confirmed the NCP has been advocating for reforms under the "July Charter" and is now "fully prepared for the upcoming election," expecting to receive continued public support.
