World Tuberculosis Day celebrated in Tala, Satkhira

World Tuberculosis Day was observed at Tala Upazila Health Complex in Satkhira on Tuesday (March 24, 2026) with a rally and discussion programme.

The event was chaired by Resident Medical Officer Dr Khalid Hasan Nayan. Doctors, nurses, health workers, NGO representatives and journalists took part in the programme.

Speakers emphasised that tuberculosis is now fully curable with proper treatment and early diagnosis. They urged people not to panic and to seek medical care promptly.

Health officials advised that anyone suffering from a cough for more than three weeks should visit the nearest health facility for testing and treatment. They also called for greater public awareness to prevent the spread of the disease.
