Lightning Kills Cloth Trader in Satkhira's Tala Upazila

A businessman died after being struck by lightning while cutting grass in a field during rain in Tala upazila, Satkhira. Chittaranjan Aich (50) son of Kanai Lal Aich of Gopalpur village ran a cloth business in Tala Bazar.

The incident occurred around noon on Saturday in Gopalpur village, Islamkati union. Local residents said it had been raining since morning. Aich had gone to cut grass in a field near his home when he was struck by lightning and died on the spot.

Officer-in-Charge Sakhawat Hossain of Tala police station confirmed the death.
