PM Urges Public Trust in BNP to Build a Welfare Bangladesh

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has expressed a strong commitment to establishing Bangladesh as a welfare-oriented state and urged citizens to keep their trust in the BNP government.

Addressing a public gathering at the Mirzapur Chairman Bari Ghat area in Pakundia, Kishoreganj, the Prime Minister highlighted key plans across agriculture, fisheries, education, social protection, employment, and energy sectors aimed at changing the fortunes of the country's population.

Empowering Women and Youth through EducationThe Prime Minister announced a plan to make education free for female students up to the honours level, with the government covering all expenses.

Following the previous initiative by Khaleda Zia to make education free up to the 12th grade, the current administration extends free education for women through undergraduate studies.

Stipends will be awarded to high-performing students. Furthermore, plans are in place to supply new textbooks, school uniforms, and bags annually to around 12 million primary school students across the country.

Sports infrastructure will be revitalized to allow the youth to build professional athletic careers.Social and Economic Welfare Initiatives.

The Prime Minister inaugurated the 'Family Card' initiative in Kishoreganj, aiming to gradually reach the female head or mother of every household. The upcoming 'Agriculture Card' will provide annual financial aid alongside direct access to fertilizers, seeds, and pesticides to reduce crop production costs.

Initiatives have been launched to improve the living standards and self-reliance of local Islamic scholars, Imams, Muezzins, and Khatibs.

Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman inaugurated 'National Fisheries Week-2026' by releasing fish fry into the Old Brahmaputra River at Mirzapur Chairman Bari Ghat and distributing fry to local communities. He emphasized that canal re-excavation projects initiated across the nation will boost agricultural irrigation and allow large-scale fish farming in rivers and canals to open new economic avenues.

Long-Term Energy Solutions & Call Against Unrest Addressing energy challenges, the Prime Minister stated that previous unplanned measures created the current power crisis. He revealed that the government will present a comprehensive 10-year power resolution roadmap in Parliament on August 27.

Highlighting the need for political stability, he called upon citizens to resist any attempts to cause street chaos, spread misinformation, or obstruct development initiatives. He reiterated that state repair and reconstruction are essential following past economic exploitation, and pledged that the BNP will act solely in the public interest.
