Dengue Death Toll Rises to 67 in Bangladesh as 730 More Hospitalized

Bangladesh reported two more deaths from dengue in the past 24 hours, bringing the country’s total dengue death toll this year to 67.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), 730 new dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country during the same period.

Both of the latest deaths were reported in Khulna Division, while Dhaka Division recorded the highest number of new hospital admissions, with 374 patients.

The other new admissions were reported across several divisions:

  • Khulna: 123
  • Barishal: 107
  • Chattogram: 89
  • Mymensingh: 27
  • Rangpur: 10

Since January 1, 67 people have died from dengue across Bangladesh. Dhaka Division, including the two city corporations, has recorded the highest number of deaths at 30.

The remaining deaths include 15 in Khulna, eight in Barishal, six in Mymensingh, five in Chattogram, and one each in Rajshahi, Rangpur and Sylhet.

The latest figures highlight the continuing spread of dengue across multiple parts of the country, with Dhaka and Khulna currently reporting the largest numbers of cases and deaths.
