The BNP has appointed four leaders to its national standing committee, the party's highest policymaking forum as according to a statement issued Saturday by Assistant Office Secretary Munir Hossain.
The new members are Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed, Amanullah Aman, Farhad Halim and Ismail Jobiullah.
The party said the appointments were made "to enhance organisational dynamism" and in line with internal decisions. BNP expressed hope that the four leaders would contribute "through their intellect and prudence" to the committee's work and helping shape decisions that serve both the party and the public.
The standing committee acts as BNP's top forum for policy and strategy, guiding the party's positions on major national issues.
