


Md. Ismail Zabiullah from Kamalnagar Upazila in Laxmipur has been nominated to the National Standing Committee BNP's highest policymaking forum sparking celebration among party leaders and activists in the district.
According to a party press release Zabiullah was named alongside Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Amanullah Aman, and Dr. Farhad Halim as new committee members.
A former government secretary who retired in 2007, Zabiullah has been active in BNP politics since 2012 and served as political advisor to the BNP Chairperson in 2016. He was later appointed chief coordinator of BNP's 41-member election management committee for the 2026 national parliamentary elections and has served on the Chairperson's Advisory Council. Government records also show he served as an advisor to the Ministry of Public Administration in 2026.
Laxmipur District BNP Convener and Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie along with District Member Secretary Shahabuddin Sabu congratulated Zabiullah on the appointment AND calling it a matter of pride for Laxmipur. They said his administrative experience and political skill would strengthen both the party's organisational work and national governance.
The news has drawn widespread congratulatory messages from BNP leaders and activists across Kamalnagar and Laxmipur including on social media.
