


A rally and discussion meeting were held in Muksudpur, Gopalganj, on Sunday to mark National Fisheries Fortnight 2026, under the theme “A Self-Reliant Nation Through Silver Fish, Bangladesh First.”
The event was organized by the Muksudpur Upazila Administration and the Upazila Fisheries Office.
The programme began with a rally, followed by a discussion meeting chaired by Muksudpur Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mahmud Ashik Kabir. Upazila Assistant Primary Education Officer Mahathab Uddin moderated the meeting.
Among the speakers were Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Rayhan Islam Shovon, Upazila Livestock Officer Dr. Jahangir Alam, Muksudpur Upazila BNP President Abdul Salam Khan, Muksudpur Press Club President Md. Shiru Mia, and fish farmer Achintya Kumar Malo.
Senior Upazila Fisheries Officer Azizul Islam delivered the welcome address.
Also present were Government Muksudpur College Teachers’ Council General Secretary Lecturer Mahbub Hasan Babar, Muksudpur Municipality BNP President Abul Bashar Tultu Biswas, Muksudpur Press Club General Secretary Kazi Md. Wahidul Islam, Muksudpur Municipality Jubo Dal Convener Saiduzzaman Liton, Upazila Fishermen’s Dal President Mahmud Hasan Khan (Raju), and General Secretary Anupam Sarker Sadhu.
The programme concluded with an award ceremony. The Upazila Fisheries Office recognized successful fish farmers Abu Nasir Khan, Dulal Hossain Molla, and Kabir Molla for their achievements in fish farming.
