Two terrorists arrested with weapons in Lakshmipur

The army has arrested two terrorists named Alauddin Barkat and Parvez Hossain with 5 firearms in a raid in Lakshmipur. During this, 16 cartridges along with weapons were recovered from them.

They were arrested in a raid in Bashikpur Union of Sadar Upazila late on Friday (December 12).

The arrested Alauddin alias Barkat is the son of the deceased Sultan Ahmed of Birahimpur village of Bashikpur Union. There are about 17-18 cases against him, including murder, robbery, kidnapping, extortion, and drug cases. The other arrested Parvez is the son of the deceased Syed Ahmed of Samserabad village of Lakshmipur municipality.

According to army sources, Lieutenant Imtiaz Hossain of Laxmipur Sadar Camp led a raid on the rented house of Alauddin Orpe Barkat in Birahimpur village of Bashikpur Union at midnight. During this, Barkat and Parvez were arrested along with weapons. Weapons and bullets were recovered from them. Three more people in the house fled. They are Jobair Hossain Shanto, son of Shah Alam of Birahimpur village of Bashikpur Union, Iqbal, son of Momtaz, and Choto Yusuf of Kashipur village. It is known that there are various cases against them.

A foreign revolver, 6 rounds of revolver bullets, 4 domestic LG, 10 rounds of LG bullets and three mobile phones were recovered from the house above.

Captain Md. Rahat Khan of Laxmipur Army Camp said that a raid was conducted in Bashikpur Union last night as part of a regular operation against terrorists. Two terrorists were arrested along with weapons in the raid. Three more people escaped after firing indiscriminately. Our operation to arrest them will continue.
