BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman today addressed the party's final-day event of the seven-day 'Plan for Nation Building' program, asserting that if the party wins the upcoming Jatiya Sangsad polls and forms the government, it will not govern the country like the "fugitive Awami League autocrat."
Tarique Rahman stated that the BNP would not run the country in the manner of the "Awami autocracy," promising to bring about change and work for the welfare of the nation.
He highlighted the party's 31-point demand, first presented two and a half years ago, noting that it prioritizes improving the living standards of the general populace. He expressed confidence that the plan, if implemented, would lead to a positive transformation in the lives of the people.
He emphasized that while proposed measures like the 'Family Card' and 'Farmer Card' are popular, their implementation is crucial and necessitates a free and fair election supported by the people.
Tarique Rahman touched upon recent violent incidents, warning that the "conspiracy has not stopped." He urged party members to move forward with unity and discipline alongside the people, without succumbing to fear.
He claimed that the BNP successfully rescued the country from the brink of destruction in past crises and possesses both the necessary plan and capacity to do so in the future. The event, held at the Krishibid Institution Bangladesh (KIB) Convention Hall, was presided over by BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi and inaugurated by Standing Committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury.
