Over a hundred leaders and activists resign from BNP in Ishwardi

Over a hundred leaders and activists of Ishwardi Upazila Jubo Dal, Swechchhasebak Dal and its affiliated organizations have voluntarily resigned in protest against various threats and misconduct from the party candidate and his associates for contesting the upcoming 13th National Parliament election with an independent candidate in Pabna-4 (Ishwardi-Atgharia) constituency.

They announced their expulsion from BNP by calling a press conference at 11:30 am on Thursday in Kachari Para, the municipal town of the upazila.

At this time, Md. Russell Parvez, the president of the upazila's Sahapur Union Swechchhasebak Dal, read out the declaration. At this time, he said, "We participated in the movement on the streets the most during the past fascist regime. We were subjected to imprisonment, oppression, lawsuits, attacks and torture. Still, we did not abandon our Ishwardi BNP guardian Zakaria Pintu, who led the movement." We expected that the party would nominate Zakaria Pintu, the last refuge and center of support of Trinamool in the 13th National Parliament election. But the high command, without giving importance to the aspirations of Trinamool leaders and activists, nominated someone who was previously in the Awami League and has no connection with Trinamool's BNP and its affiliated organizations. All of whose efforts are to endanger the tested leaders and activists of Trinamool.

He also said that from the party for which we have sacrificed everything in the past few days and stayed on the streets, we have been subjected to oppression and torture, now we are getting cruel treatment from the step son. We are not able to form a party due to the oppression of Habibur Rahman Habib. In that case, we, the leaders and activists of Ishwardi's Trinamool Jubo Dal, Swechchhasebak Dal, and Chhatra Dal, have decided to resign from the party posts. Among others present at the event were Md. Shahriar Hossain Sahan, member of the Ishwardi Upazila Youth Party Convener Committee, Md. Shaheen Hossain, General Secretary, Ward No. 1 Youth Party, Joint Convener of the Ishwardi Upazila Volunteer Party, Md. Jahangir Hossain, Md. Rawshan Alam Pappu, Russell Parvez, Asadul Islam Asad, Ishwardi Municipal Volunteer Party Md. Faisal Ahmed Faruk, Md. Rumon Ali, Md. Enayet Ali, President of the Dashuria Union Volunteer Party, Sohel Khan, President of the Sahapu Union Volunteer Party Md. Russell Parvez, Vice President Md. Ibrahim Ali, Md. Osman Mondal Md. Sanarul Islam, Salimpur Union Volunteer Party, Muladuli Union, Sara Union, Municipal Council, College Chhatra Dal and Upazila Chhatra Dal leaders and workers were present.

It is worth noting that the party has expelled former joint general secretary of Pabna district BNP Zakaria Pintu for running as an independent candidate from BNP. Moreover, the central executive committee has already expelled 6 people, including the convener of Ishwardi Upazila Jubo Dal, for not running with the party's nominated candidate.
