Sajek Valley, one of Bangladesh’s most popular travel destinations is temporarily closing to tourists again starting at 7:00 PM on Wednesday due to unavoidable circumstances.
The Rangamati district administration announced the sudden closure in an emergency public notice signed by Deputy Commissioner Nazma Ashrafi.
Travelers currently staying in Sajek have been advised to pack up and leave safely by 4:00 PM on Thursday (October 22).
This comes just days after the spot was reopened for the Durga Puja holidays. Sajek was previously shut down on October 11 with tourists asked to clear out by October 13. Authorities briefly lifted the restrictions on October 15, allowing visitors back from October 16 through October 21.
However with the situation changing the local officials have reinstated the travel hold until further notice. Travelers planning trips to Baghaichhari upazila are advised to postpone their plans for now.
