All government, semi-government, autonomous and semi-autonomous offices will operate from 9:00am to 3:30pm during the upcoming holy month of Ramadan.

The decision was taken at the weekly meeting of the Council of Advisers held at the Chief Adviser’s Office (CAO) on Thursday, chaired by Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus.

Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam announced the decision at a media briefing at the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka on Thursday afternoon.

A 15-minute break from 1:00pm to 1:15pm will be observed during office hours to allow employees to perform Zohr prayers.

According to the Islamic Foundation, the holy month of Ramadan is expected to begin on February 19, subject to the sighting of the moon.
