


Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is scheduled to inaugurate the 2026 Hajj flight operations this Friday, April 17. The Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism confirmed the schedule in a press release issued Thursday.
The Prime Minister will officially launch the flights at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 11:30 PM. Following the ceremony, the season's first flight is set to depart at 12:30 AM with 419 pilgrims on board.
The Ministry noted that Hajj management preparations are complete, featuring an extended flight schedule and a significant reduction in airfares. This year, ticket prices have been lowered by 12,000 BDT compared to the previous season.
A total of 78,500 Bangladeshis are expected to perform Hajj in 2026. Final preparations are currently being finalized at the Ashkona Hajj Camp in the capital. To ensure the wellbeing of pilgrims, a medical team consisting of 171 personnel has already arrived in Saudi Arabia.
