


Prime Minister Tarique Rahman officially inaugurated this year’s Hajj flight operations at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) late Friday night.
The Prime Minister formally opened the inaugural Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight (BG3001) at 11:57 PM. The aircraft departed at 12:20 AM for Jeddah, carrying 418 pilgrims.
Before the departure, the Prime Minister boarded the aircraft to exchange greetings and shake hands with the pilgrims. He joined a special munajat (prayer) inside the cabin, seeking divine blessings for the pilgrims and the prosperity of Bangladesh. He also requested the pilgrims to pray for the nation during their stay in the holy land.
Earlier in the evening, the Prime Minister visited the Ashkona Hajj Camp at 10:50 PM. He spoke with departing pilgrims, personally greeting them and wishing them a successful journey.
Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Houssain (Kaikobad), Health Minister Sardar Md Sakhawat Husain, and Saudi Ambassador Dr. Abdullah Zafer bin Abiyah accompanied the Premier during the inauguration.
