Recently, a fake photocard circulating on social media claims that Nahid Islam, Opposition Chief Whip and Convener of the National Citizens Party (NCP), said, "If I call now, 80 percent of the country’s people will take to the streets."

An investigation by the Rumor Scanner team confirms that Nahid Islam never made this statement. The quote originated from a satirical Facebook page and is falsely being shared as real news.

The fake photocard was first published on April 12 by a Facebook page named "Gupto Television." The page's bio explicitly states it is a satire and parody platform, and all its content is created solely for entertainment. A review of the page reveals a clear history of similar satirical posts.

Furthermore, no mainstream media or credible sources have reported Nahid Islam making such a comment.

The claim attributing this quote to Nahid Islam is entirely false.
