


Agricultural expert Dr. Md. Abdul Majid Pramanik has taken charge as the Acting Director General of the Rural Development Academy (RDA), Bogura.
His appointment follows an official order from the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, signed by Senior Assistant Secretary Kutub Ul Alam.
Dr. Majid joined the RDA in 2004 as an Assistant Director. Over the last two decades, he has spearheaded research in poverty alleviation, climate resilience, and food security. He is widely recognized for implementing technological innovations in Bangladesh’s char regions, which have significantly improved local livelihoods.
An alumnus of Bangladesh Agricultural University, Dr. Majid holds a PhD from China. He has authored over 50 research papers and recently received the National Public Administration Award for his contributions to public service and research.
Stakeholders expect that under his leadership, the RDA will further prioritize sustainable rural development and field-level innovation.
