Thousands of people from various faiths attended an interfaith prayer meeting in Faridpur on Tuesday June 2, to mark the martyrdom anniversary of former President Ziaur Rahman.

Organized by Faridpur-3 (Sadar) MP Chowdhury Nayab Yusuf, the gathering took place at Halima Girls School and College. Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, and Christians joined local Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) leaders and activists in the prayers.

Emphasizing regional unity, MP Yusuf stated, "We organized this inclusive gathering to build a non-communal Faridpur together, uniting followers of all faiths."

Other notable attendees included District Council Administrator Abzal Hossain Khan Palash, BNP leaders Md. Azam Khan, AFM Qayum Jangi, and AB Siddiqui Mitul, as well as Jubo Dal leaders Md. Rajib Hossain and Benazir Ahmed Tabriz.
