The High Court has granted bail to former minister and ousted Awami League joint general secretary Dr. Dipu Moni in one case. The court also issued a ruling asking why she should not be granted bail in six other pending cases.

A High Court bench comprising Justice Md. Khairul Alam and Justice Sheikh Abu Taher passed the order on Wednesday, June 3.

Dr. Moni had previously sought bail from the High Court for seven cases filed at various police stations across Dhaka.

She served as the foreign, education, and social welfare minister during the Awami League's 15-year tenure. Following the fall of the government on August 5, 2024, amid mass student-led protests, police arrested her in Dhaka's Baridhara area on August 19.

She currently faces over 38 cases, with charges including murder, crimes against humanity, corruption, and inciting violence.
