


A major reshuffle has taken place in the Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) amid an ongoing fuel supply crisis. Seven officials, including the managing directors of two BPC-owned and partner companies, have been transferred and given new postings.
Md. Yusuf Hossain Bhuiyan, managing director of LP Gas Limited (LPGL) and holding additional charge as BPC’s senior general manager (Distribution and Marketing), has been appointed managing director of Jamuna Oil Company.
In the same order, Jamuna Oil Company’s managing director, Engineer Md. Amir Masud, has been assigned as managing director (current duties) of LPGL.
The information was confirmed in an official order signed by BPC Secretary Shahina Sultana on Thursday (April 16).
According to the order, all transferred officials must be released from their current posts by Thursday morning and join their new workplaces by noon. Otherwise, they will be considered automatically released in the afternoon.
Among other changes, BPC senior general manager (Audit) Abul Kalam Azad has been appointed chief executive officer (CEO) of Standard Asiatic Oil Company Limited (SAOCL).
SAOCL CEO Ferdousi Masum Himel has been transferred as BPC general manager (Distribution and Marketing). Meanwhile, BPC general manager (Trade and Operations) Muhammad Morshed Hossain Azad has been returned to his previous role as general manager (Finance).
Mohammad Zahid Hossain, previously attached to the BPC chairman’s office, has been appointed general manager (Commerce and Operations). Md. Jahangir Kabir, currently serving as general manager (Finance), has been assigned as general manager (Audit) on current duties.
