The tanker 'PVT Solana', carrying approximately 30,000 tons of refined diesel from Malaysia, arrived at Chittagong Port on Tuesday. This marks the eighth fuel shipment to reach the port since the onset of the Middle East conflict.
Port Secretary Syed Refaet Hamim confirmed the arrival, noting that the 'PVT Solana' is currently joined by two LPG carriers at the outer anchorage. Additionally, two more vessels carrying LNG and LPG are expected shortly.
According to a Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) official, unloading operations are underway. The vessel will either be lightered at the Alpha Anchorage or brought directly to the Dolphin Jetty in Patenga for discharge. Officials confirmed that another fuel oil shipment is scheduled to arrive within a few days, ensuring a steady energy supply.
