


An unidentified man, believed to be around 55, died after being hit by a train while crossing railway tracks in Dhaka's Karwan Bazar late Thursday night.
The accident occurred around 11:30pm on the tracks behind the market. The man was critically injured and rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where he was declared dead around 1am, said Inspector Md Faruk, chief of the hospital police outpost.
His body has been kept at the hospital morgue for post-mortem and police are working to identify him.
Kader, a vegetable trader at Karwan Bazar who helped take the man to hospital, said he was struck by a moving train while crossing the tracks. Another passer-by assisted in taking him for treatment.
