


Bangladesh recorded four more deaths among people with suspected measles symptoms in the 24 hours to 8am Saturday including one confirmed measles case according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Two deaths occurred in Sylhet Division and two in Dhaka Division with one Dhaka death confirmed as measles. The DGHS also reported 917 new measles cases during the period of which 761 patients were hospitalized.
Since it began publishing measles data on March 15, the DGHS has recorded 100 confirmed measles deaths nationwide alongside 891 deaths among people showing measles symptoms.
Dhaka Division has reported the highest number of symptomatic deaths at 401 followed by Sylhet with 154, Rajshahi with 92, Mymensingh with 75, Chattogram with 64, Barishal with 53, Khulna with 35 and Rangpur with 14.
Total hospital admissions for measles have reached 143,214 with 137,921 patients discharged so far. The country has recorded 163,105 suspected measles cases overall including 19,641 confirmed infections.
