Police arrested 305 people during anti-drug operations across 11 districts of Chattogram Range in 24 hours, from Friday morning to Saturday morning as according to the Chattogram Range Police Office.
Chattogram Range DIG Abdul Kuddus Chowdhury said the operation led to the recovery of 82,860 yaba pills 21.912 kg of marijuana 500 litres of liquor and 761 bottles of Scoff syrup.
Among those arrested 77 face regular cases, 12 were held under Section 34 of the Police Act, five under Section 54 of the Criminal Procedure Code, 117 under existing warrants and 21 under sentence warrants.
Of the total, 73 were arrested specifically in drug-related cases, including 35 alleged dealers and 38 drug users. Mobile courts sentenced 33 people to various prison terms during the campaign and collected fines totaling Tk.9,150. A total of 28 cases were filed in connection with the drug recoveries.
