The Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) has strengthened security measures for the traditional Abdul Jabbar Memorial Bolikhela and the Pahela Baishakh fair in Chattogram.

A coordination meeting was held on Thursday (April 16) at 11:00am at the CMP headquarters conference room. CMP Commissioner Hasan Md. Shawkat Ali chaired the meeting and urged all concerned agencies to work in close coordination.

Officials said comprehensive preparations have been taken to ensure public safety during the events. Plans include traffic control, crowd management, emergency response readiness, and maintaining overall law and order.

The CMP Commissioner said law enforcement agencies will remain on high alert and take all necessary steps to prevent any untoward incidents.

Representatives from government and private organisations, along with senior CMP officials, attended the meeting.
