A public hearing was held in Dargapasha, Purba Pagla and Purba Birgaon unions of Shantiganj upazila of Sunamganj district with the participation of local farmers to implement the work of construction/repair of crop protection dams in haor under the Water Development Board.
The public hearing was held at 10:30 am on Saturday in the conference room of the Dargapasha Union Parishad of the upazila, under the chairmanship of Upazila Kabita Scheme Formulation and Implementation Monitoring Committee and Upazila Executive Officer Mohammad Shahjahan, and under the direction of Water Development Board Branch Officer (SO) Moniruzzaman.
During the public hearing, Upazila Agricultural Extension Officer Mofazzal Hossain and Chairman of Dargapasha Union Parishad Md. Sufi Mia spoke.
On the other hand, public hearings were held at 1 pm in the conference room of Purba Pagla Union Parishad in the upazila and at 2:30 pm in the conference room of Purba Birgaon Union Parishad in the upazila.
Present at the time were Officer-in-Charge of Shantiganj Police Station Oli Ullah, Agricultural Extension Officer Mofazzal Hossain, General Secretary of Shantiganj Press Club Sohel Talukder, Organizing Secretary Hossain Ahmed, Acting Chairman of Purba Pagla Union Rupon Mia, UP member Azir Uddin, Acting Chairman of Purba Birgaon Union Parishad Ruzel Ahmed, UP member Masuk Ali and others.
