


The Gazipur Civil Surgeon’s Office plans to administer Vitamin A Plus capsules to more than 5.5 lakh children across the district during the upcoming national campaign on June 28.
Civil Surgeon Dr. Md. Mamunur Rahman announced the target during an orientation meeting with journalists at his office on Thursday.
According to the health department's plan, a total of 558,674 children aged between 6 and 59 months will receive the essential supplement. The campaign will cover five upazilas 45 unions, three municipalities and the Gazipur City Corporation area.
To ensure maximum reach, the health department has established 1,087 vaccination centers across the district. The administration will follow specific age-based dosages are 6 to 11 months: 71,135 children will receive one blue capsule (100,000 IU) and 12 to 59 months: 487,839 children will receive one red capsule (200,000 IU).
Dr. Rahman confirmed that the district is fully equipped for the drive, having already received an adequate stock of 72,500 blue capsules and 491,000 red capsules.
Key district officials attended the orientation to coordinate administrative support including Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md. Shahriar Nazir, Additional Superintendent of Police Md. Mozammel Hossain and Deputy Director of the District Family Planning Office Abu Taher Mohammad Sana Ullah Noori. They urged parents and guardians to bring their children to the nearest centers to ensure no child is left out of this critical health initiative.
