

Eight more children have died with measles symptoms in Bangladesh over the past 24 hours, while 1,086 new suspected and confirmed cases were reported during the same period.
The information was released on Saturday, October 10, in the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS)’s regular measles report.
According to the DGHS, the total number of deaths from confirmed measles and measles-like symptoms in Bangladesh has risen to 1,122 this year. Of these, 102 deaths were attributed to confirmed measles, while 1,020 involved patients who died with measles symptoms.
The report said all eight deaths recorded over the past 24 hours occurred in Dhaka Division. During the same period, 43 new confirmed measles cases were reported.
With these additions, the total number of confirmed measles cases in Bangladesh this year has reached 21,666.
The report also recorded 1,109 new people with measles symptoms over the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of suspected measles infections reported nationwide this year to 195,197.
