The sole surviving member of a family brutally attacked in Laxmipur’s Raipur has officially filed a murder case following the deaths of his mother and three sisters.

On Friday, following autopsy procedures, authorities handed over the victims' bodies to the family's sole surviving member, Junaid Islam Sifat. After a brief funeral prayer in Raipur, the bodies of Shahinur Begum (38) and her daughters Saima (20), Iqra (17) and Shifa (9) were transported to their ancestral home in Comilla's Homna upazila for burial.

Sifat has filed a formal murder case against the deceased attacker and several unidentified suspects. A separate case was also filed regarding Antar’s lynching. While the victims' bodies have been claimed, Antar's body remains at the Sadar Hospital morgue with no family members coming forward.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (Raipur Circle) Abdur Rashed confirmed that intensive investigations are underway. While locals speculate a financial dispute may have triggered the home invasion, police are exploring all possible motives. Additional police forces have been deployed to the Dhanhata area to maintain peace.
