


The body of an expatriate auto driver named Sohag Hossain (35) has been recovered from a sand pile in a betel nut garden near his house in Raipur, Lakshmipur, three days after he went missing. Cardamom was recovered from the betel nut garden at Montaj Patwari's house in the Patwari Road area of Sonapur Union of the upazila on Saturday afternoon. Sohag is the son of Tajal Islam of Lalgaji Miji house in the same area.
Earlier, Sohag went missing from his polling station on Wednesday morning (February 12), the day before the 2019 parliamentary elections. His wife, Shahinur Begum, is 8 months pregnant.
Sohag's brother and mother said that Sohag left the house on the morning of the incident. He could not be found after that. There is no dispute with them. It is not possible to say who or what committed the murder. However, he was addicted to online gambling. It is believed that he may have been killed and buried in a pile of sand inside the betel nut orchard in the neighboring area. In this regard, Raipur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shahin Mia said that the body of auto driver Sohag was recovered from the pile of sand in the betel nut orchard near their house at noon. Preparations are underway to file a murder case in this incident. Efforts are underway to find the killers.
