A mobile court in Kushtia’s Bheramara upazila has shut down Biswas Diagnostic Center and fined its owner Tk 15,000 for severe operational irregularities and consumer rights violations.

The raid, led by Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Dr. Gazi Ashiq Bahar, was conducted on Thursday evening at the facility which is located opposite the main gate of the Bheramara Upazila Health Complex.

According to mobile court sources, the diagnostic center was penalized for issuing medical test reports without the mandatory signatures and seals of a qualified MBBS doctor or a registered medical technologist. By charging patients for tests but failing to deliver authentic medical evaluations, the institution violated Section 45 of the Consumer Rights Protection Act 2009. The clinic's owner Jaglur Rahman Liton was fined Tk 15,000 for these offenses.

Furthermore, the magistrate ordered the immediate closure of the diagnostic center after uncovering multiple critical failures, including substandard medical equipment a complete absence of on-duty staff during operational hours and an expired facility license.

"Such drives will continue in the public interest to ensure citizens receive safe and standard healthcare services," stated Executive Magistrate Dr. Gazi Ashiq Bahar following the raid.
