A combined prayer gathering (mahfil) and discussion meeting was held in Faridpur today to commemorate the 5th death anniversary of former minister Chowdhury Kamal Ibne Yusuf and to pray for the recovery of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.
The event was organized by the Chowdhury Kamal Ibne Yusuf Memorial Sangsad. Government Rajendra College ground, Faridpur at Saturday afternoon. Professor ABM Sattar presided over the discussion meeting.
Special prayers were offered for the speedy recovery of former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, wishing her physical and mental strength to overcome her illness and return to health. The discussion focused on the political career and contributions of the late former minister, Chowdhury Kamal Ibne Yusuf.
The meeting was addressed by party candidates including Chowdhury Nayab Yusuf (Faridpur-3 Sadar), Shahidul Islam Babul (Faridpur-4), and Khandaker Nasirul Islam (Faridpur-1).
Senior party leaders present included District BNP Convener Adv. Modarres Ali Icha, Member Secretary AK Kibria Swapan, and other local BNP figures like Azam Khan, Abzal Hossain Khan Palash, Syed Zulfikar Hossain Jewel, AB Siddiqui Mitul, Professor MA Samad, Professor Abdul Samad, and Professor Mostafizur Rahman Shamim, along with leaders and activists from various levels of the party.
