Storm Warning Issued for 7 Districts, River Ports Told to Hoist Signal No. 1

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast thunderstorms and gusty winds in seven districts by Saturday evening. River ports in the affected areas have been advised to display warning signal No. 1.

According to the inland river port forecast issued for the period from 9:00am to 6:00pm on Saturday, rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds may affect Rangpur, Dinajpur, Bogra, Tangail, Mymensingh, Cumilla and Chattogram regions.

The forecast said winds from the west or northwest could reach speeds of 45 to 60 kilometres per hour in these areas.

Authorities have urged river ports to remain cautious and follow the weather advisories.
