BGB Arrests 1, Seizes Drugs in Dinajpur Border Raid

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested a 28-year-old man and seized contraband worth approximately Tk 4.44 lakh during anti-smuggling raids in the Phulbari border area of Dinajpur.

The suspect, Md. Shahin Babu from Kutair Majhapara village in Dinajpur Sadar upazila, was apprehended with 3,172 Indian narcotic tablets 240 bottles of locally made sexual stimulant syrup, and a motorcycle.

Lt. Col. Mohammad Arif-uz-Zaman commander of the Phulbari Battalion (29 BGB), stated the arrests followed three separate operations conducted between July 19 and 21 by personnel from the Katla Special Camp Boragram and Dainur border outposts. He reiterated the BGB’s commitment to a strict zero-tolerance policy against cross-border smuggling and drug trafficking assuring continued legal action against offenders.
