


The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has issued a weather warning for eight districts, forecasting rain, thunderstorms and gusty winds up to 60 km/h by 1:00 PM today.
The alert, effective from 5:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Friday July 17 applies to the inland regions of Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Comilla, Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, and Sylhet.
According to the BMD, temporary south or south-easterly gusts traveling at 45 to 60 km/h are expected to sweep across these areas. Due to the adverse weather conditions, authorities have instructed river ports in the affected zones to hoist cautionary signal number 1.
Vessel operators and passengers traveling through these southern and eastern river routes are advised to exercise standard precautions until the warning is lifted.
